Cigars vs pipes?

Post by Lvacgar »

For those that do both, how does your smoking break down percentage wise, and why?

I am north of 90% pipes to 10% or less cigars smoking. I find more nuance in pipe smoking, a much more varied palate. I can pack just a pinch in a corn cob for a 10 minute smoke or fill a Peterson house pipe for a 2 hour session. I can blend components myself or customize existing mixtures. Pipe tobacco is so much cheaper.

That being said, I gather several times a year with 6-8 brothers from church for cigar and bourbon events and road trips. Just last night as a matter of fact! It’s so easy to light a cigar and an effortless enjoyment for an hour or so…

Good points. Like you, I'm 90/10 pipe/cigar. Cigars are stupid expensive up here: $30 for a good stick. I also agree with the flavour nuance thing. So the reason for my go-to is: price, then flavor.
Here I stand. I can do no other. :flags-wavegreatbritain: :flags-canada:

It is very rare for me to smoke a cigar anymore. I’ve given most of my stash away.

Cigars vs pipes?

50/50 here
It's a convenience thing for me. Also the form factor and accoutrements of cigars is more amenable to my typical grab-and-go or pack-and-go routine. There's a good reason why the various types of pre-rolled weed are eleventy billion times more popular than loose leaf.
